Colorado College - Men's Hockey

The Colorado College Tigers join the You Can Play team with men's hockey promoting respect for all LGBT athletes, coaches and fans. The team says, "It's time to be allies" in taking a stand against homophobia, racism and sexism.

“We’re always looking for creative ways to engage our entire community in the work of challenging inequality and taking ownership for the safety of all of our community members,” said Heather Horton, director of CC’s Wellness Resource Center. “I was particularly excited about the opportunity to connect with our campus athletes, because they often have a unique perspective on campus culture. As a result, when they speak out about social responsibility and justice, their message carries additional weight.

Colorado College, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been a longtime hockey powerhouse.  Players taking part in the video include Scott Winkler (Asker, Norway), Alexander Krushelnyski (Bloomfield Hills, MI), Joe Marciano (Alta Loma, CA), Peter Maric (Milwaukee, WI), Russell Finch (Casper, WY), Josh Thorimbert (Saskatoon, SK), Mike Boivin (Delta, BC), Jordan DiGiando (Gahanna, OH), Courtney Lockwood (Breckenridge, CO) and Cody Bradley (Tampa, FL)
